Yoga Therapy

Integrating evidenced-based therapy practices with elements of yoga, mindfulness, and somatic interventions.

Overview

Looking to explore the benefits of yoga and mindfulness in the context of mental health work? Laurel Englesson, Mental Health Counselor and Certified Yoga Instructor, offers many options to supplement more traditional approaches with somatic tools and techniques:

Short term therapy: 6- or 12-week curriculum available to individuals, couples, or families.

Group therapy: yoga therapy curriculum with the community feel of a group.

Long-term therapy: combines traditional talk-based therapy with yoga therapy for an integrated approach over the course of a longer duration.

Sessions are structured over a duration of either 6 or 12 consecutive weeks, during which clients engage with the foundational principles of yoga therapy to cultivate essential skills for personal well-being. Each session encompasses psycho-education, yoga practice, and dedicated time for reflection and integration.

Yoga therapy is a valuable addition to traditional talk therapy, suitable for both adults and teens. In our sessions, we discuss relevant topics, practice yoga therapy together, and conclude with time for reflection and integration.
