Shirley Tsur Magen, LMSW
Shirley’s approach to treatment emphasizes the collaborative nature of the therapeutic process. Shirley views her role in her work together with individuals as helping them to access the strength and resources that already lie within them. Shirley aims to provide individuals with a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment, one that will allow a person to comfortably explore their experiences and express their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.
As a holistic therapist, Shirley considers the whole individual to create deep, overall wellness. In order to meet the unique needs of her clients, she utilizes a variety of therapeutic methods. Shirley is primarily informed by Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy, while incorporating mindfulness practices, creative arts, and play-based interventions.
Shirley has experience in providing therapy for youth, adults, couples and families, from diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Her primary areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, grief, trauma, addiction, and behavioral concerns in youth.
